Short Film: Salmon Chanted Evening

Winner of CBC Signature Shorts Screenwriting Competition

High production values and an amazing job done by the crew, most of whom were working professionals in Vancouver’s film industry. Hats off to the director who had the challenging job of interpreting a magic-realist story which I loaded with allusion, metaphor, allegory and puns. Don’t be expecting Spielberg, the story ending is flawed, Mea culpa. My first success in screenwriting and I was intimidated by the CBC vetting process. I feared not getting a green light and changed the story ending even though I was not pressured to do so. Never betray your story.

The film aired a few times, once right after a hockey game.
